Proactively protecting an athlete’s future in case of a concussion includes a baseline
ImPACT® test before they hit the field or the court. In less than an hour, you’ll have an assessment of the athlete’s unique brain profile so in case of a concussion, you’re prepared.
A baseline test establishes the standard that’s normal for an individual’s brain. Since every person is unique, these attributes are unique as well. This “brain fingerprint” defines the athlete’s “normal” that is distinctive to him or her. The information from ImPACT® testing helps determine when and if the athlete is ready to resume regular activities, including athletics.

Distinguished Service Award
Happy first day of football practice San Antonio! We here at Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio are proud to serve the San Antonio athletic community and honored to be recognized by the Texas High School Coaches Association for our doctors' work helping high school athletes across Texas to say "I will play again”. Sports Medicine Associates was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for 2015. Usually reserved for individuals, Sports Medicine Associates was the first organization to win the award collectively; a reflection of the hard work put in every day by all of the Sports Medicine Associates doctors and staff.
